“I can’t wait till it’s Halloween Ooh… Ooh…”
We are excited to see all of your children in their amazing costumes for our annual Halloween celebration on Thursday, October 26th at the Friends Seminary Meeting House from 5:15 – 7:00.
This year, due to street construction we will set up our Halloween celebration down the street. Please join us for an evening of singing and dancing with Beau and the Beginnings’ Parent House Band: “The Separators.” Additionally, there will be face painting, material explorations, cupcakes, and pizza. Our community – parents, teachers, children, and alumni – are encouraged to attend in non-scary costumes and rock the night away.
Admission will cover the cost of pizza, cupcakes and concert/sing-along for your ENTIRE FAMILY (including grandparents). Your name(s) (based on your billing information) will be on the check-in list at the event. The party is also the only school-wide fundraiser for Teaching Beyond the Square, our non-profit started by Beginnings in 2013. Since its opening last year, our public Materials Center in the Lower East Side has provided materials to over 100 NYC schools. The Materials Center supported low-income families that normally lack access to arts and cultural programming. Our free family workshops were designed to improve parent-child engagement and language development through material-based experiences.
We encourage you to donate beyond our $50 family entrance fee for the party to support the goals we are hoping to accomplish this year:
- Partnerships with Public Schools: After taking a field trip to our materials center, one of our educators will work with students and teachers in their classrooms to fulfill learning standards through incorporating materials and an inquiry-based approach.
- Materials Truck: Our mission is to get materials to all five boroughs. We can do this with the purchase of an old school bus or truck decked out with beautiful materials! The vehicle will travel to public schools and give teachers easy access to our treasure trove of materials.
- Outreach Coordinator: Our goal is to make Teaching Beyond the Square a resource for all. We want to hire a short-term project manager to make this possible by creating relationships with public school administrators and non-profits that support families in need.
Help us raise $50,000 for these projects! Your donation can help us transform the way children learn and teachers teach in NYC and beyond.
Please consider a donation outside of your $50 to attend the Halloween Party!
All donations are tax-deductible.
Look forward to seeing you in costume on Thursday the 26th at 5:15 PM!
And YES… ALUMNI ARE WELCOME!!!
